Professional training

About the training

„ I would like to be a graphic designer!” „I am interested in animation!” „I want to be a photographer!” We often hear these sentences before the choice of career. We would like to draw your attention to our school that has been working as an art school for 15 years. Besides graphic design, animated filmmaking and applied photography we also teach fashion design, style design and movie making.

Our main goal is to try to make students be more familiar with visual culture. The professional training take 2 years (after graduation in high school) and in the end of the 2nd year students have to take a special exam to receive an intermediate certificate. The education in progress is defined by the prevailing education laws.

The basic theoretical subjects, such as art history, art theory or aesthetics are important to base students’ diverse knowledge. Drawing and using the newest computer programs have a stressed role in the training.

At the end of each school year we organize an exhibition where students’ works and films can be watched – this way they can see the others’ work and show theirs to their parents, friends and invited experts.

On these workshops students work together on a certain project, so this way they can try themselves out as a group member.

Our students can use MacIntosh computers to learn the tricks of computer animation. The personalized consultations teachers give all the help to students, so they can unfold their own ideas.

At the end of the second year students have to make an own short movie that can be showed in student festivals as well. We put an emphasize on verbal communication (besides visual of course), and the importance of presentations – this way they are going to be more confident in a job interview. We give help to students who prepare for an art university to get ready with their portfolio in time – every year a lot of them get accepted to these universities and colleges (MOME, BKF)
